 | In 1933, the Japanese forces who occupy Korea launch JODK, the country's first radio station. In need of a Korean producer for its latest piece of propoganda, a radio drama about Japan's Asian empire, they appoint Lloyd Park. Lloyd is a good-for-nothing womanizer who only agrees to produce the drama to impress beautiful jazz singer Mary. The team is rounded out by a bunch of losers: alcoholic Man-chil, gisaeng Myung-wol, errand boy Soon-duk, vulgar novelist Bong-al and resistance fighter K. Against all the odds, the drama becomes an overnight success among the growing number of radio owners. However, as the play reaches its conclusion, the Japanese occupiers intervene to ensure it has the appropriate ending... | |
