About

In 1996, Deboragh Gabler founded Legacy Filmworks Ltd. to create critically-acclaimed, financially successful movies for the international marketplace. Since then, Legacys films have garnered four Emmys, a George F. Peabody Award, a DGA Award, a Lifetime Prism Award, a Movie Guide Award and numerous film festival awards.

Fifteen years later, Legacy Filmworks is one of the most respected film production and distribution companies in Canada, with over 60 theatrical features, TV movies and series to its credit. All of Legacys productions are financially profitable and have been distributed worldwide, partnering successfully with private investors, networks and studios.

Legacy has just embarked on its first animated film, €The Clockwork Girl€, partnering with Arcana Comics to establish Luximation Films, starring Alexa Vega, Jesse McCartney and Carrie-Anne Moss. Post production is being completed on €True Justice€, starring Steven Seagal. Also recently completed, €Circle of Pain€ and €Beatdown€ for Lionsgate €Legend of the Dancing Ninja€ for CJ Entertainment and €A Dangerous Man€, starring Steven Seagal for Paramount.
Legacy Filmworks provided production services for €Vampire€ starring, Kevin Zegers, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Amanda Plummer, Trevor Morgan, Adelaide Clemens, Yu Aoi, Kristin Kreuk and Rachel Leigh Cook. The film was written and directed by Shunji Iwai and premiered in 2011 at Sundance, Berlin Film Festival and will be premiering at Cannes.

In 2009, Legacy produced several films including, €The King of Fighters€ (Maggie Q, Ray Park, Sean Feris), €The Break-Up Artist€ (Amanda Crew, Ryan Kennedy), €Web of Desire€ (Dina Meyer), €Sight Unseen€ (Tracey Gold) and €What Goes Up€ (Hilary Duff, Steve Coogan).

In 2008, Legacy received a Prism Award for film, €My Name is Sarah€, starring Jennifer Beals. Also produced were, €Dancing Trees€, starring Brooke Burns and €Paparazzi Princess€, starring Amber Hay, as well as a feature film for Sony/Screen Gems, starring Angus MacFadyen. Legacy also produced, €All the Comforts€, a sit-com for the CBC, with partners Paul Flaherty and Tom Nursall.

With experience in development, production, film financing and distribution, Legacy has an excellent reputation with studios, broadcasters, investors, government agencies and lending institutions in Canada and around the world.
