Synopsis

After seven years away, Akiko, a high school student, and her mother return to a small hometown where everybody knows about her AIDS virus. Akiko had contracted the AIDS virus during transfusion in South America. The news causes fear and paranoia to envelop her village.
Eventually, Akikos best friend, Natsumi, comes around and begins to realize that Akiko is having a hard time coping with her illness and initial fear of her friends condition. With help of Natsumi, Akiko is able to gain the support of the entire community and, in turn, helps them get past their own prejudice and ignorance about her disease.
