Synopsis

Kazus Kukotskogo is an adaptation of a novel by Liudmila Ulitskaya. It is a familys saga , taking place in a period from 1940s till 1980s. The most significant events of that time such as the persecutions by Stalin's government, genocide of the best ones in Russia, sanctions against the Jewish people, arrests and concentration camps, legal persecutions for abortion, ban on genetics, funerals of Stalin, and then the Khrushev's €thaw€, euphoria of 60s, the bohemian life of Moscow are a kind of background for the eternal questions of human life: marriage and family, love and affinity, moral choice, mutual comprehension and public opinion.
