Synopsis

For three decades, Cecil Gaines (Academy Award Winner Forest Whitaker) served as the chief butler for six consecutive US presidents including Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy (Matthew McConaughy), and Richard Nixon (John Cusack). Working intimately with these world leaders at the White House, Cecil Gaines more than just witnessed radical transformations in American history in many ways he inspired them. Academy Award-nominee Lee Daniels directs a stellar ensemble cast who between them have garnered 18 Academy Award nominations.
