Kanaani

Überblick

This movie showcases the testament of young love, choices, and the ills of human
trafficking. The travails of migration in that region and the exploitation by human
and sex trafficking are well documented around that region of the world.

Kanaani follows the story of Nigerian natives who are in love, Obehi and Gbovo, who
live a simple life in their small village. When Obehi is informed by her stepbrothers
they intend to send her to Italy to be a prostitute, Gbovo convinces her to journey to
America in order to save herself and promises that they will soon be together again.
Unbeknownst to Gbovo, Obehi is actually being sold into sex trafficking in America. As
she struggles to survive and find a way back home, Gbovo tries desperately to join her in
America and experiences his own tragedy...
