Johnny is a misfit, a white koala in a world of grey. Appearing as a freak act in the travelling circus he decides to escape his humdrum life. Lost and dying of thirst in the Australian Outback he stumbles upon a billabong (watering hole) and fights off marauding crocodiles and dingoes to quench his thirst.
