Synopsis

BORN & RAISED is a captivating television series that delves into the triumphs and trials of Hawaii's most accomplished individuals. Set against the backdrop of a remote chain of islands, this show uncovers the inspirational stories of those who have risen to greatness despite the challenges they faced growing up in paradise. By highlighting the struggles unique to this region, we reveal how Hawaii's isolation fuels its residents' determination and resilience.

Each episode is a 60-minute-long scripted and nonscripted documentary containing two individual stories who participate in the same discipline pertaining to a specific trade, craft, talent, or artistic field who have risen to global notoriety, along with their global influence and power they wield to create mass change and inspiration. With that power we come to understand the benefits and repercussions to their life choices, which ultimately shape them into who they are today. The blueprint to their success is told in cinematic vignette in which entertains the audience with recreations of the past and documentation of their historic achievements, leading them to the present. This is not a documentary that interviews accomplished individuals speaking just words of inspiration and aspirations. This is a narrative film documentary hybrid that allows you to feel a realistic recreation of the exact moments of greatness and immense pain of the never-ending drive of resilience.

24 other world-changing BORN & RAISED spotlights remarkable individuals who have achieved exceptional success in their respective fields. Throughout the first season, we delve into the lives of various personalities, from accomplished athletes and artists to influential business leaders and community builders. Our completed pilot episode introduces Makua Rothman, Kai Lenny, Koa Rothman, and Billy Kemper – the kings of big wave surfing. Their stories serve as a compelling introduction to the series, captivating viewers and leaving them hungry for more.

BORN & RAISED is composed of 24 engaging episodes, each running for 30 minutes. This format strikes a balance between providing an in-depth exploration of each individual's journey and maintaining a captivating pace that holds viewers' attention. The episodic structure makes our series suitable for traditional linear broadcasters as well as streaming platforms, ensuring a wide distribution reach.
