Synopsis

SUN ZHIJUN’s life takes a dark turn after his release from prison. Desperate for a fresh start, he borrows a high-interest loan to purchase a new car, only to become entangled in a web of illegal activities. Despite hard-fought battles to repay his debts and the assistance of his unreliable friend, HOU, Zhijun finds himself ensnared in a vicious cycle of debt and crime.

Meanwhile, LYU YAN, left destitute after her husband's death in a tragic traffic accident, relocates to Chongqing with her daughter LINLIN. They take refuge in a rented room, only for tragedy to strike again when the landlord turns out to be a human trafficker and sells Linlin. Driven by despair and a fervent desire to find her daughter, Lyu Yan accidentally commits a heinous act, setting her on a perilous path of evading the law while desperately searching for her child.

Lyu Yan's quest soon leads her to Sun Zhijun, the man who had arranged transportation for the child traffickers. Through pleading, threats, and ultimately the promise of money, Lyu Yan manages to enlist Zhijun’s help to find her child. Together, they embark on a tumultuous journey fraught with danger, betrayal, and unexpected love.
