Synopsis

This story takes place during the II World War. Three friends Askarbek, Karabay and Grisha from the same village are taken to the front. Askarbek's father Muratkhan, who is trying to find his son at the front, leaves after them. Mostly women are left in the village. Among the women, there is a hunchbacked brigade leader named Bekzhuuma, who secretly sells the village grain to outsiders. One of the female village workers named Sholpan becomes a witness and, as a result, is killed by the bandits. Almagul, Karabay's sister, who arrives in time, hands the bandits over to justice. A girl in love with Askarbek's brother decides to follow him to the front. However, by twist of fate, she becomes a war chronicler. Askarbek is a very brave and courageous young man, but his independent character leads to a dispute with his commander, with whom he later develops a friendly relationship. Fate dictates that Askarbek and his father Murat Khan, unaware that they served in the same division, both end up wounded in the same hospital. It is there that Askarbek meets his love.
