Journalist Fanny discovers a mysterious photo album in a thrift store, revealing the life of Christiana, an unknown photographer who disappeared under unknown circumstances in New York. In search of the truth, Fanny locates the gallery in Paris exhibiting Christiana's works, which includes not just self-portraits, but also shots with an arcane “love doll” named Gabriel, to which Fanny forms a strange and inexplicable attachment.
