There has always been a fascination with Oklahoma and Cowboys in Hollywood. That allure has led to an interest in learning more about black cowboys. Our film is the only film that's showcasing the black rodeo scene in Oklahoma. Our film is the foundation for future black cowboy storytelling. It springs from joy and hope.
Riding Legacy is a completed documentary about the Oklahoma black cowboy community that has existed since the early 1850s. This 60 minute documentary explores the untold and unseen history of Oklahoma. Black cowboys have been underrepresented onscreen and on the page in the media's depiction of the rodeo world. Until now.
