Nestled at the base of the majestic Chimborazo volcano in the Ecuadorian Andes, Candice (Sara Canning), a devout missionary, is resolute in converting the Indigenous community to Christianity. She has built a home with her husband Joel (Daniel Gillies), a born-again ex-addict and their son, Elliot (Jett Klyne), who is 14 and seeking an independence that this remote world cannot offer. There is unrest among the locals as the tension between new and old-world Gods collide. The Shaman (Humberto Morales), and his trusted assistant Atoc, have also felt a dangerous and uncontrollable shift in the community’s loyalty. So, when Elliot falls mysteriously ill, Candice concludes that she and her family are victims of the Shaman’s bad omens. She enlists the help of the local priest, but soon realizes that they are dealing with a sinister and ancient entity. Fearing that she will lose her family, Candice must now reconsider trusting the person she also suspects - the Shaman she drove away.
